Noiseberg: Speaker Repair
Our speakers are getting old, and really need some love before the next session on March 3.
Hello everyone,
Noiseberg* needs to repair or replace two pairs of speakers that unfortunately decided to have problems at the same time. I will try to keep costs reasonable but it won't be nothing, and it would be great to have your support for it.
And while we're at it, it would be time to get more cables and stuff—you know how it is, a musician inadvertently packs something from the venue, we don't notice until next session, and it's no big deal so we don't bother. But now we're starting to run low on gear.
This is a bit of an emergency since next concert happens on March 3rd. I'll front the money as much as possible, but it would be great if it can be recouped. You might know Noiseberg is so much non-profit I actually spend my own money in it, and I'm happy to do it but I'm not rich by any means.
I don't know the budget needed yet, but I'm assuming it'll be around 500/600€ for repairing, maybe double that for replacing. It would be awesome to reach at least the repair price with this crowdfunding.
If we somehow exceed the minimum amount, there are many many ways the extra can be used. In order of priority:
- don't just repair but actually replace with more reliable speakers and PA
- buy a new audio interface for recordings (my old zoom keeps crashing and it really makes things difficult)
- buy a long HDMI cable that can run from the stage to the projector
- get some real keyboard stands, and mic stands that don't hold with gaffer tape
- start a treasury to let us pay all musicians a set minimum, also on days of low attendance.
*Noiseberg is a series of sound experiments sessions taking place on the first Sunday of the month in Kreuzberg, Berlin. It is ran by musicians, for musicians to perform in front of other musicians, and encourages them to present projects and collaborations that have never been played live before. The curation tries to always be an eclectic selection tapping into both electronic and acoustic music, from quiet ambient atmospheres to harsh noise, from echtzeit jazz to musique concrète, with the occasional incursion in the territories of punk, vocal experiments, or embodied practices. We strive to be as inclusive as possible, welcoming anyone who respects others regardless of their background, gender or sexual identity, skin colour, etc. Our concerts can always be accessed for free, no one was ever turned away for lack of funds, and donations entirely go to the musicians.
Noiseberg has hosted over 300 musicians since its inception in 2015, and we just hosted event #111. Please help us make NB#112 happen with your support!
All sessions are videodocumented and published for free on our youtube channel
