Edona, wohnhaft in Pristina in Kosovo, deren Tante bei Heidelberg lebt, wurde in Heidelberg untersucht. Aufgrund der seltenen Erkrankung ist der Tumor (Ganglioneuroblastom) in Heidelberg leider nicht operabel. Es gibt jedoch eine Kinderklinik in Utrecht/Niederlande, das Princess Maxima Center Pediatric Oncology, die auf solche Fälle spezialisiert ist.

Es liegt ein Kostenvoranschlag für die Behandlung vor; die Behandlungskosten (Operation und Chemotherapie) sind nicht bei 150.000 € gedeckelt und es können je nach Therapieverlauf weitere Behandlungskosten anfallen. Außerdem werden von der Spendensumme die Plattformkosten und Transaktionskosten abgezogen.

Das gespendete Geld dient ausschließlich der Krebsbehandlung von Edona. Sollte am Ende ein Spendenüberschuss entstehen, wird dieser in Absprache mit der Familie krebskranken Kindern zu Gute kommen.

The 16-year-old girl, Edona, from Pristina in the Republic of Kosovo, is suffering from a rare tumor (Ganglioneuroblastom). She was examined in Heidelberg, but due to the rarity of the disease, the hospital in Heidelberg unfortunately cannot assist her.

However, there is a children's hospital in Utrecht/Netherlands, the Princess Maxima Center Pediatric Oncology, which specializes in such cases.

A cost estimate for the treatment is available; the estimated treatment costs (surgery and chemotherapy) amount to €150,000. The €150,000 is a provisional estimate, so further costs may be incurred depending on the course of the cancer treatment. Platform costs and transaction costs are also deducted from the donation amount.

The money donated is used exclusively for cancer treatment. If there is a surplus of donations at the end, this will be donated to children with cancer in consultation with the family.
