Help after death, partner in need
Support after death to make it possible to live on.

Hi, I'm Reiner.
Following the tragic death of my partner, I am urgently asking for help as I am in extreme financial difficulties and everything is falling apart around me.
My partner, Karin Kowal, unfortunately passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61.
It was a big shock for me when I found her lifeless in her walker at noon on October 11, 2024.
Unfortunately, the emergency medical intervention was unsuccessful and only death could be determined.
That alone is a huge burden for me and I find it difficult to think clearly.
Now I still have the urn with the ashes in the cupboard.
I look at them every day and burst into tears.
It has also become almost impossible for me to think clearly.
We live (have) in Portugal. Now, because of my extremely low pension, I can't pay for the funeral, the apartment and all the other costs, or find the money to do so.
I also have no money to return to Germany to at least bridge the initial period (without everything).
I would lose everything that we had here.
So it was with a heavy heart that I considered returning to Germany. But I definitely don't want to have to live on the street with nothing.
I have no family and no other contacts.
But the institutions there only put obstacles in your way. I didn't get anything in response to my inquiries about what to do next, including with the aid organizations (apart from an automatic reply that we would be in touch).
No health insurance, no social welfare office, no Caritas and no social welfare organization. I tried everything. Unfortunately without success.
I feel completely abandoned.
Unfortunately, I'm completely on my own and have no family or other contacts worth mentioning. I really don't know what to do anymore!
I would be more than grateful for any kind of support.
As I hardly have any contacts myself, it would help me if you could support this campaign, forward and share it on social media.
Thank you very much.
